President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has officially invited the President of the SSC Khaatumo Administration, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye), to attend the upcoming National Consultative Forum scheduled to take place in Mogadishu.
The invitation was announced by Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, who is currently in Las Anod. The Prime Minister confirmed that President Firdhiye accepted the invitation and will participate in the Forum, which will also involve leaders from several regional states. Notably, President Hassan Sheikh has excluded the President of Jubaland from attending, while Puntland’s leadership remains uncertain.
Prime Minister Hamza emphasized that the significance of the Forum lies in discussing the future of the country. He mentioned that President Firdhiye will have the opportunity to voice the interests and perspectives of the people he represents.
Additionally, the Prime Minister pointed out that the SSC Khaatumo Administration is at a critical stage in its development, requiring both political and financial support to achieve its goals for the local community. He reiterated that the Somali federal government fully supports SSC Khaatumo and recognizes their efforts to establish an official administration that truly represents the people of that region.
Hamza also revealed that the federal government has begun direct involvement in building administrative centers for SSC Khaatumo, with some projects underway in Las Anod.
Overall, the invitation extended to President Firdhiye is seen as a crucial diplomatic step, signaling SSC Khaatumo’s formal entry into the country’s political process and ensuring their voice will be heard at the national decision-making table.
