In Hiiraan region, nearly ten Al-Shabaab militants were killed early this morning during a coordinated offensive carried out by the Hiiraan-based Maawiisley forces in the outskirts of Mabah village.
According to reports from Mabah in Hiiraan, the community-led Maawiisley fighters launched a pre-planned operation at dawn targeting Al-Shabaab operatives who had recently regrouped near the area. Sources confirm that at least six militants were killed during the raid.
The operation focused on locations where Al-Shabaab fighters had been assembling over the past few days, making the assault a direct hit on an emerging threat.
This offensive comes amid increased activity by the Macawiisley forces, who have intensified operations aimed at disrupting Al-Shabaab’s ability to carry out attacks in the region.
Meanwhile, in the last 48 hours, large reinforcements have arrived at the frontlines in Hiiraan, with additional troops dispatched from various towns across the region. These reinforcements are meant to bolster the Hiiraan-based Xawaadle Macawiisley units, who have been engaged in direct combat against Al-Shabaab for several years.
