President Hassan Sheikh Leads Offensive on Frontlines as Al-Shabaab Threatens Key Regions

The President has reached Adan Yabal district in the northeastern part of the Middle Shabelle region, where he met with senior Somali National Army officials, including the Chief of Defense Forces and the head of the Somali Military Court.

Today, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has once again traveled to the frontlines to spearhead the ongoing offensive against Al-Shabaab militants, who have recently intensified their attacks in the Middle Shabelle, Lower Shabelle, and Hiraan regions.

The President has reached Adan Yabal district in the northeastern part of the Middle Shabelle region, where he met with senior Somali National Army officials, including the Chief of Defense Forces and the head of the Somali Military Court.

Adan Yabal serves as the largest Somali National Army base in the area and is a key command center for military operations against Al-Shabaab.

Following his visit to Adan Yabal, President Mohamud has now arrived in Moqokori, where he is meeting with additional military leaders, including the commander of ground forces, the Hirshabelle Vice President, and local leaders. Together, they are working to accelerate efforts to combat Al-Shabaab militants in the region.

Al-Shabaab, during their recent offensive, managed to regain control of several strategic areas in Middle Shabelle following intense battles with government forces and Ma’awisley militias.

In response, the Somali government has rapidly deployed a significant number of security forces to the frontlines. Moreover, clans and Ma’awisley fighters have been mobilized to join the Somali National Army (SNA) in its operations against the militants.
