Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, who is currently on an official visit to Djibouti, held a high-level meeting with Djibouti’s President, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. The talks focused on deepening bilateral relations and enhancing regional security cooperation.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Djibouti. It covered a range of key topics, including security, politics, economic collaboration, regional developments, and the strengthening of brotherly ties between the peoples of both nations.
Prime Minister Hamza highlighted that his administration has made significant strides in areas such as development, national security, economic reform, political stability, and institution-building. He emphasized that these achievements were made possible through effective collaboration among government institutions.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Djibouti for their unwavering support and solidarity with Somalia, underlining the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries. The Prime Minister also praised President Guelleh for his pivotal role in promoting peace and reconciliation in the region, especially in supporting unity among the Somali people wherever they may be.
In response, President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh reaffirmed Djibouti’s continued commitment to supporting Somalia’s state-building efforts. He reiterated Djibouti’s dedication to contributing to peace, stability, and security in Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa region.
