Fahad Yasin Reveals Why He Chose to Write a Book on the Prophet’s Biography

Dedicating Sooyaalka Suubanaha to his late father, who passed away over 20 years ago, Fahad shared that he consistently prays for his forgiveness.

Former Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Fahad Yasin, has given an extensive interview covering various topics, with its first part aired last night.

Speaking to Risala Media, Fahad elaborated on his recently published book, Sooyaalka Suubanaha – Naxariis iyo Nabadgalyo Korkiisa Ha Ahaato (The Prophet’s Biography – May Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him).

The former National Security Advisor to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo stated that his motivation for writing the book stemmed from recognizing the need among Somali youth to learn about the life of the Prophet. He noted a decline in traditional study circles where young people once gathered to acquire religious knowledge.

During the interview, Fahad expressed gratitude to the many scholars and individuals who contributed to the completion of his book, acknowledging that it would not have been possible without their support.

He also revealed his close ties with several Somali scholars, both living and deceased, including the late Sheikh Boqolsoon and Sheikh Mustafe Haji Ismail Harun. Fahad recounted that he spent years as a student and assistant to Sheikh Boqolsoon, with the initial intention of becoming a religious scholar before shifting to media and politics.

Dedicating Sooyaalka Suubanaha to his late father, who passed away over 20 years ago, Fahad shared that he consistently prays for his forgiveness.

When asked about how he intends to convince the public to listen to him on religious affairs—given his background as an intelligence chief and politician—Fahad emphasized that the Prophet belongs to all of humanity, not just a specific group. He stressed that everyone has a duty to spread Islamic teachings and share knowledge.

Furthermore, Fahad disclosed that he has written additional books set to be published before the end of the year, focusing on intelligence, politics, and governance.

The interview did not end there; in an upcoming segment, Fahad is expected to discuss the administration of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with early snippets suggesting sharp criticism of the current regimet’s actions.
