Kabakutukade, who was in charge of the Al-Shabaab operations in the region, has been a key figure within the group.
Though details remain unclear, sources have not confirmed whether he was killed or simply wounded. Speculation surrounding his death stems from the fact that he missed several important meetings that he had previously committed to attend, as well as reports that he has been frequently using his phone in the days leading up to the strike, which has raised suspicions that his whereabouts may have been compromised.
