GAROWE – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has announced a sweeping reshuffle of his cabinet, regional governors, and senior government officials, marking a significant restructuring of his administration.
According to a decree issued by the presidency, the changes include the appointment of new ministers, deputy ministers, state ministers, directors, and regional governors as part of efforts to reorganize the executive branch.
The reshuffle, the first major one in over two years, introduces a 43-member cabinet responsible for key sectors including justice, interior, health, planning, information, and fisheries.
The new appointments also include figures from the Sool region who were previously part of the SSC-Khaatumo administration, indicating a move toward broader political inclusion within Puntland’s leadership.
Officials stated that the restructuring aims to strengthen governance, improve administrative effectiveness, and support stability in the region.
The new leadership lineup is expected to be formally implemented following the completion of the appointment process.
